Local Cruise Operators

The safety and security policy of ABP prevents general access to the general public to the dock estate for photography on foot. However links to public harbour trips operators are included on the links page. Bus tours were introduced Summer 2005 by ABP. Vantage points are available from the Hythe Ferry and the Southampton to Cowes ferry - the sun dictates, depending on berth and time of day.
Blue Funnel Cruises are the only resident boat trip company regularly operating various cruises in the port.

Branch arranged visits

Branch visits due to the necessity of ship operations these days are inevitably arranged at short notice and sometimes over subscribed.
All members wishing to participate should attend branch meetings and keep their personal contact details current with the visits organiser.
Where known details will be posted here but its not normally practical and the telephone may well be the first means of contact.
Members on visits do so entirely at their own risk and should comply with any instructions given by the visit leader or member of the ships crew.
A ship and the dockside often contains slip/trip and other hazards that those people not familiar with the dock environment should take extreme care.
